Just a bit of wishful thinking on my part, but in fact I am delighted to report that Denmark is threatening a more robust response to some of the Islamic crackpots around the world.
This time it is the unpleasant (obviously - think Darfur) Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir who is under the spotlight.
According to this article, al Bashir was quoted as saying that "the Muslim world should boycott Denmark because of the cartoon." If it were not for the deeply tragic circumstances in Sudan/Darfur I would be splitting my sides laughing at the spectacle of an arsehole like this attempting to occupy the high moral ground. In response, Denmark is considering cutting its substantial aid to Sudan.

Regular readers will know which cartoon: it's here as well!
I applaud Denmark's firm stance in support of its free press. Good luck to them.
Until the next time.
